Virtus Entella
Outstanding performance
Virtus Entella•AttackerVirtus Entella tore into Pisa from the opening whistle, with Bernat Guiu finishing inside two minutes before Luigi Cuppone and Andrea Franzoni added further goals either side of Mehdi Léris's 35th-minute red card. By halftime Pisa were 3-0 down and down to ten men, their unbeaten league-leading status in tatters. Pisa rallied after the break through Omar Correia and pushed men forward, out-shooting Entella 14-14 with more corners and dangerous attacks, but Mattia Tirelli's 80th-minute strike sealed a statement win for the visitors, who managed just four shots on target but made virtually every one count. For Pisa, top of the table and unbeaten coming in, this is a jarring reality check; for Entella, a huge marker laid down against the division's best.
