Ascoli
Outstanding performance
Ascoli•MidfielderAscoli dominated the ball with 65% possession and doubled Padova's passing output, but couldn't turn control into clean chances, managing just one shot to Padova's two. Padova sat back for long stretches, absorbing pressure and conceding plenty of fouls in the process, but they made their moment count when Matteo Cocchi picked out Nicolas Galazzi in the 63rd minute for the game's decisive goal. The visitors showed real efficiency, converting their lone big chance while Ascoli squandered their one clear opening. It's a big three points for Padova, who move further clear near the top of the table, while Ascoli will be frustrated at failing to break down a side that offered them so much of the ball but so little else.
