PivotalOutstanding performance

Cremonese produced the perfect start, scoring twice in the opening five minutes through Federico Bonazzoli and Adin Licina to blindside Padova before the visitors had settled. Marco Pompetti's stoppage-time strike right before the break gave Padova hope, but Bonazzoli's second on 56 minutes restored the two-goal cushion and effectively ended the contest. Padova actually edged the underlying numbers, out-attacking Cremonese with 43 dangerous attacks to 29 and winning the corner count, but they were punished for their sluggish start and wasteful edge in front of goal. For Cremonese, this result cements their credentials near the top of Serie B, while Padova will rue a first-half collapse that undid a spirited response.
