PivotalOutstanding performance

Al-Qadsiah's class told in the end, but not before Al Faisaly gave them an almighty fright by equalizing within seven minutes of falling behind. Mateo Retegui's early strike was cancelled out by Abdoulaye Seck, and it took a sustained spell of pressure - reflected in 17 shots to Al Faisaly's 5 and a 71-44 dominance split - before Mohammed Abu Al-Shamat restored the lead just before the half-hour. An unfortunate own goal from Mohammed Al-Shanqiti in the second half, who had already been booked earlier in the match, put the game to bed and ended any hopes of an Al Faisaly comeback. With 57% possession, nine shots on target, and six big chances created against just one for the visitors, Al-Qadsiah's control was near-total, and the result keeps them well placed at the top of the table while Al Faisaly's defensive frailties will be a concern heading into their next fixture.
