Sint Maarten completely dominated the statistical picture - 57% possession, 22 shots to 11, and 87 dangerous attacks compared to 64 - yet found themselves buried by halftime thanks to Oalex Anderson's ruthless finishing and a horror own goal from Sergio Hughes. St. Vincent and the Grenadines played a classic smash-and-grab game, converting their few clear chances while riding their luck, and Kennijah Joseph's 45th-minute red card should have ended any hope of a comeback. Instead, Sint Maarten made a mess of statistical dominance into a genuine second-half fightback, with Mitchell de Nooijer and Quinton Christina scoring in the final 20 minutes to make it 2-4 and set up a nervy finish. For St. Vincent and the Grenadines, this is a huge statement result against a side ranked well above them, while Sint Maarten will be left to rue their profligacy in front of goal despite enjoying the lion's share of the ball throughout.
