“Jordan Esprit breaks the deadlock, giving Hanwell Town a 1-0 lead after a tightly contested opening period.”
Pivotal“Henry Snee adds a second for Hanwell in the dying seconds, looking to have made the game safe.”
PivotalHanwell Town had to work hard for this one, with the game goalless and largely uneventful until Jordan Esprit broke the deadlock just after the hour mark. That strike settled the hosts, who looked to be cruising toward a comfortable cup win until stoppage time turned chaotic. Henry Snee doubled the lead deep into the 90th minute, seemingly putting the tie beyond doubt, only for Shamir Fenelon to immediately pull one back for Burgess Hill and set up a nervy finish. In the end Hanwell held on, their extra goal proving the difference as they advance in the FA Cup while Burgess Hill's run ends despite a spirited late rally.
