Outstanding performance

Russia controlled this friendly from the first whistle, racking up 65% possession and 24 shots to Namibia's four, but it took until the 37th minute for Lechi Sadulaev to break the deadlock from a corner routine. The floodgates only truly opened after the break, when a mass substitution overhaul at half-time injected fresh legs and sharper finishing, with Danil Prutsev and Konstantin Tyukavin adding goals within ten minutes of each other. Maksim Glushenkov's introduction proved decisive, scoring and assisting in the final quarter as Russia piled on two more via a Maksim Petrov penalty and a late Kamaijanda Ndisiro own goal. Namibia, who managed just nine saves and zero shots on target, were simply overrun, and this result does little to change the gulf in class between the two sides heading into their next outings.
