“Alberto Abengózar steps up and converts coolly from the penalty spot to give Sporting Alcázar the lead right before half-time.”
Pivotal
Sporting AlcázarTalayuelaSporting Alcázar made home advantage count by taking the lead from the penalty spot just before the break through Alberto Abengózar, and that proved enough to see off Talayuela in this Copa del Rey tie. The first half carried all the drama, with the penalty call the decisive passage of play, while the second period went by without any further clear-cut moments. Alcázar's defense held firm once ahead, managing the game smartly to protect their slender advantage and advance in the cup. For Talayuela, the result ends their cup run and leaves them to regroup, while Sporting Alcázar can take real confidence from a disciplined, if unspectacular, display into their next fixture.
