No player in this tournament has more goals. Mbappé is the axis around which France's entire attacking machine rotates, and his output alone makes France dangerous against anyone.

Watch for

His movement in behind high defensive lines is ruthless — watch how he exploits the half-second of hesitation that elite centre-backs give him before he's already gone.

The Veteran

Lionel Messi

Argentina

Lionel Messi drives Argentina's perfect group-stage run with 8 goals and 12 goal contributions from the right wing.

Why they matter

Argentina are the only team with maximum points and a +7 goal difference. Messi is not merely present — he is the engine. At this stage of his career, every contribution carries historic weight.

Watch for

His ability to drop deep and thread passes through congested midfields before accelerating into final-third positions remains unreplicable — track his movement off the ball, not just on it.

The X-Factor

Michael Olise

France

Michael Olise has delivered 7 assists for France, making him the tournament's standout creative force from the right wing.

Why they matter

While Mbappé takes the headlines, Olise is the architect. Seven assists from a wide position is a number that changes how opponents must set up defensively against France — ignore him and you pay immediately.

Watch for

Watch his inside cuts from the right and the weight he puts on low crosses into the box — he finds angles that most wingers do not even see as options.

The Breakout Candidate

Julián Quiñones

Mexico

Julián Quiñones has scored 4 goals for Mexico, who sit joint-top of the standings with a perfect 9 points from 3 games.

Why they matter

Mexico's flawless group stage has been powered up front by Quiñones, a striker who has seized the tournament stage and announced himself on the global scale. He is the reason Mexico are a genuine threat.

Watch for

His runs in behind and clinical finishing inside the box — he does not waste chances in front of goal, and in a knockout format that composure becomes priceless.

The FutAve Watch

Jude Bellingham

England

Jude Bellingham has contributed 7 goals for England, who reached the knockout rounds despite a wild rollercoaster through the group stage.

Why they matter

England's path through this tournament has been chaotic — a 10-goal thriller against France, a loss to Norway — but Bellingham has been their constant, their moments-of-brilliance player when it matters most.

Watch for

His late arrivals into the box from a deeper midfield starting position are almost impossible to pick up — defenders lose him in the chaos and he punishes it every time.
