Pivotal“Felipe Mora leveled for Portland at 1-1, scoring directly from a corner situation seconds after Sergi Solans had been booked, turning the match on its head as Portland's numerical advantage began to tell.”
Pivotal“Felipe Mora completed his brace and sealed the win for Portland, again arriving from a corner sequence after his initial right-footed shot had been blocked in the 64th minute — relentless pressure finally breaking RSL's ten-man resistance.”

Outstanding performance
Portland Timbers•MidfielderPortland dominated virtually every statistical category — 61 percent possession, 22 shots to Real Salt Lake's six, 98 dangerous attacks — yet it was the visitors who struck first through Juan Manuel Sanabria in the 18th minute, capitalizing on a spell of Portland pressure that came to nothing. The match turned dramatically in the 34th minute when Morgan Guilavogui was dismissed for violent conduct, leaving Real Salt Lake to defend for over an hour with ten men. Felipe Mora made that numerical advantage count, equalizing in the 56th minute directly from a corner situation and then striking again in the 67th to complete the turnaround, with both goals arriving in a frenzied twelve-minute spell that showcased Portland's ability to apply relentless pressure. The result is significant in MLS's tightly contested title race — Portland bank three crucial points while Real Salt Lake, already reduced to ten men and now with a suspension to navigate, face a difficult stretch ahead.
