San Diego built their win on a fast start and clinical edge, going 2-0 up through Achouri and Sargeant despite having less of the ball, finishing with 20 shots to Galaxy's 17 and a healthy seven on target. LA Galaxy responded through Hirving Lozano's close-range finish and looked to have leveled through Kyogo Furuhashi shortly after, but San Diego's numerical advantage following Jeppe Tverskov's second yellow proved decisive as Amahl Pellegrino's introduction paid off with the clinching third goal. Dreyer's double assist made him the architect of the win, while Galaxy's 56% possession and 530 passes counted for little against a San Diego side that created more big chances (3 to 1) and made them count. The result drops Galaxy further into mid-table trouble while San Diego banked a statement three points built on efficiency rather than control.
