Outstanding performance
América•AttackerAmérica secured a crucial 2-1 victory over Toluca in a match defined by Brian Rodríguez's clinical finishing and a dramatic second-half collapse from the visitors. Despite Toluca dominating possession (61%) and creating more dangerous attacks (42 vs 33), América proved ruthlessly efficient with their chances. Rodríguez struck twice within six minutes either side of halftime, both right-footed efforts finding the left corner from outside the box. Toluca pulled one back immediately through Miguel Vázquez's unfortunate own goal from a corner, but their momentum was crushed when substitute Helinho saw red in the dying moments. This victory lifts América's form at a crucial juncture, while Toluca will rue their inability to convert territorial dominance into goals.
