PivotalOutstanding performance

Instituto capitalized on a numerical advantage after Agustín Álvarez saw red right before halftime, and they wasted no time exploiting it, scoring twice within eight minutes of the restart through Cerato and Alarcón. Talleres pulled one back almost immediately through substitute Alexandro Maidana, who struck within a minute of coming on, but they couldn't complete the comeback despite dominating possession (57%) and passing (433 to 319). An unfortunate own goal from Luis Ezequiel Unsain in the 80th minute sealed the win for the home side, who were far more clinical with their chances, out-shooting Talleres 17-6 and 6-1 on target. For Instituto, the win reinforces their strong recent form, while Talleres will rue their profligacy and the costly red card that derailed their afternoon despite carrying more of the ball throughout.
