“Julián Mavilla rattled the post with a left-footed effort, but Junior Marabel reacted quickest to convert the rebound with his right foot and open the scoring for Sarmiento.”
Pivotal“A flurry of yellow cards at the end of the first half — Rodrigo Fernández Cedrés and Julián Mavilla both booked for fouls — signalled the growing tension and ill-discipline that would define the match's disciplinary record.”
“Lucas Suárez put the result beyond doubt with Sarmiento's second goal, converting to make it 2-0 and end any lingering doubt about the outcome.”

Outstanding performance
Sarmiento•DefenderSarmiento pulled off a tactically disciplined upset, surrendering 69% of possession to Huracán while producing 18 shots — nearly double their opponents' output — to claim a comfortable 2-0 victory. The hosts played on the counter, conceding the ball willingly and exploiting space behind Huracán's high defensive line, and it paid dividends as Junior Marabel tucked away the opener on 30 minutes after Julián Mavilla had struck the post. The match turned irreversibly when Jordy Caicedo was dismissed for violent conduct on 66 minutes, deflating Huracán's numerical and positional dominance and opening the game up for Sarmiento's runners. Lucas Suárez sealed the three points on 86 minutes with a composed finish, confirming a result that Sarmiento's shot conversion — five on target to Huracán's zero — had long suggested was coming. For Sarmiento, the victory is a significant confidence boost in the Liga Profesional title race, while Huracán must re-evaluate a possession-heavy approach that ultimately produced nothing in the final third.
