3 – 2
Did it deliver?
Yes, it delivered. A two-goal swing, a penalty at each end, and a late comeback with a sending-off in the closing stages gave this tie plenty of drama.
Roma looked in control early. Matías Soulé finished from Rodrigo Mora's assist on 11 minutes, and Donyell Malen converted a penalty on 17 after Ayden Heaven's handball. United hit back with greater control of the game, finishing with 15 shots to Roma's 7, 6 on target to 4, and 49 dangerous attacks to 37. The turn came when Cunha was fouled by Gianluca Mancini and Bruno Fernandes scored the penalty on 58 minutes. Roma held on until the 83rd minute, when Cunha fired in from close range, and he struck again three minutes later from Shea Lacey's assist. He was sent off on a second yellow in stoppage time, which is a concern for United's next fixture. The win gives United a big boost in the Champions League table, while Roma were left to rue a collapse after a strong start and a game marked by 14 fouls and some loose discipline from Mancini.

Manchester United are 21st in the Champions League table and winless in nine, with Michael Carrick under pressure. Roma arrive in form after a 5-2 win over Udinese, led by in-form Donyell Malen. A top-24 finish is the target, so this is a big night at Old Trafford.
He has 11 goals this season and is Roma's main threat. He could exploit a United defence missing Yoro.
United's creative focal point must supply chances and set the tempo while key players are missing.
He is expected to start after returning from injury and could bring composure to a midfield without Ugarte.
He may return from a hip injury and could add pace and a goal threat if fit.
